Man, 57, has suffered 'life changing injuries' following motorway collision
A 57-year-old man has suffered life-changing injuries following a collision on the M60 this morning.
Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a lorry colliding with a man on the first lane of the M60 clockwise, near to junction 13, at 6:20am this morning.
The man is understood to have to got out of his car on the side of the motorway shortly before the collision.
He remains in hospital at this time, in a serious condition.
The driver of the lorry remained at the scene and is assisting police with their investigation.
A police spokesperson said: "We’re investigating a serious collision on the M60 earlier today that has left a man with life-changing injuries and caused significant travel disruption this morning (1 September).
"At around 6.20am we were called to the first of a number of reports of a lorry colliding with a man on the first lane of the M60 clockwise at around junction 13.
"The man – aged 57 – is understood to have got out of his car on the side of the motorway in the moments before the collision.
"He was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries and is in a serious condition as he continues to receive treatment.
"The driver of the lorry remained at the scene and is assisting our Serious Collision Investigation Unit with their investigation."
Enquiries are ongoing, police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage from around the area at the time, to get in touch by calling 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 491 of 01/09/2022.
